The Taste of Obsession

When the owners of a well-known Oak Park catering company decided to open their own restaurant, they turned to Yearbook to position their brand, craft their identity and design their restaurant. The result was an integrated brand experience that included everything from graphics and collateral to the interior design of the restaurant itself.

With a dedication to creating classic dishes with a modern twist, Obsessed Kitchen & Bar is defined by changing menus with changing seasons that focus on obsessive use of seasonal ingredients. The logo design and branding were developed simultaneously as an integrated living identity utilizing classic images of famous faces and subjects that embody concepts of obsession. This became the foundation for all brand expression from collateral to the primary theme of the interior design.

The interior design had to be treated as an extension of the Obsessed brand. It was an opportunity to build on the obsessive concept by using multiples in the design. Repetitions in lighting, photographs, globes and a shifting color palette were all designed to celebrate the bold and all-encompassing obsessive experience.

Brand Extension

Menus and collateral were designed to further drive the brand voice through distinctive typography and imagery. This strategy extended to the website concept as well.
