Phil & Anne’s Good Time Lounge

We were honored when Michael Murray, design partner to Rachael Ray, brought us on board to create a new identity, brand direction and interior graphics for a new Brooklyn restaurant belonging to Chef Anne Burrell and restaurateur Phil Casaceli. The goal was to create a classic identity with a modern attitude that would offer versatility for brand expansion.

Identity

We created an identity that was vintage inspired, hearkening back to swank supper clubs of the past. We designed a distinctive nameplate with a coordinated symbol as complimentary branding elements to be used throughout the restaurant, on the website, menus and business cards.

Interior Details

Anne Burrell wanted us to design and create a custom paisley wall covering inspired by one of her signature blouses. We scanned in the blouse and then recreated the pattern from scratch to create the large scale paisley. We went through several revisions to achieve the color palette she desired. The end result was a dynamic graphic which anchored the private room in the back of the restaurant.

Signage

Drawing from Anne Burrell’s love of pin-up girl artworks from the 1940s and 50s, we retooled original illustrations in an irreverent fashion to complement messaging on required signage throughout the restaurant.
